Alte Schäferei is a family-run organic farm and farm shop located in Bergheim near Augsburg. After decades of inactivity, the historic farm was gradually brought back to life, transforming into a place for sustainable agriculture, regional products, and transparent food production.

The visual identity draws directly from the farm’s history. Its name, “Alte Schäferei” (Old Sheep Farm), references a period when sheep farming played a central role on the property. This heritage became the starting point for the logo design.

The mark combines several elements of the farm into a single symbol: a sheep’s head forms the overall silhouette, while a rooster creates the nose and chicken footprints become the ears. Together, these details represent both the farm’s history and its present focus on animal husbandry and organic farming.

What began as a logo commission for the opening of the farm shop evolved into a broader visual identity, including signage, posters, packaging applications, and egg stamps. The result is a distinctive and memorable brand that reflects the character of the farm and the people behind it.
